Kraft per scatole

Not all papers are born the same. Some are simple industrial products, while others arise from a real need—from conversations, from collaboration, from a shared intuition.
And then there are those papers that are born twice: first in discussions between technicians and buyers, and then in reality, when an idea becomes something tangible.

In Trevi, this second birth has just taken place.
Its name is TKraft, and it is not just another paper.

A new liner paper that joins our family of papers for corrugators.

TKraft is the answer to a real and widespread challenge: the need for a clean-looking, strong, moisture-resistant paper with performance close to virgin fiber—yet without the usual limitations of virgin kraft: high costs, uncertain availability, and unpredictable lead times.

Recycled Kraftliner for top liner applications

Sheet of corrugated board with inner and outer liners made with TKraft, the 100% recycled Italian kraftliner.

TKraft was created through the collaboration between Cartiere di Trevi and a major box manufacturer who asked us to take on an ambitious challenge together: to develop a paper capable of truly competing with virgin kraft, while remaining 100% recycled, sustainable, and perfectly suited to production lines that work daily with fresh food products.

That was the core objective: producing a recycled paper able to perform in environments where moisture is not an exception, but a constant.
We are talking about clean, rigid, high-quality boxes, cartons intended for refrigeration, packaging for mozzarella, yogurt, and other fresh products for large-scale retail—packaging that must look impeccable on the outside and remain resistant on the inside.

A recycled paper that stands face-to-face with virgin kraft

Virgin kraft has always been the benchmark for these applications: clean, homogeneous, reliable, with very high mechanical performance and physical test values. Yet it is also costly, and often difficult to obtain quickly.

TKraft was not created to be a copy—it was created to be an intelligent solution.

A paper designed to:

– Approach the visual cleanliness of virgin paper, with a uniform color, smooth surface and premium appearance.
– Offer significantly higher moisture resistance than standard recycled grades, ideal for production lines exposed to condensation, humidity or cold.
– Deliver excellent tensile strength, stiffness and burst values, because visual quality matters—but so does runnability and structural performance.
– Feature an intense brown shade, characteristic of virgin kraft papers.
– Optimize costs, providing a true economical alternative to traditional kraft.
– Ensure a fast, flexible, fully Italian supply chain, because when you need paper, you need reliable short lead times.

TKraft aims to be all of this: a recycled paper without compromises. Yes, it is recycled. And that is precisely the point.

Why TKraft could be useful to you

If your company produces:

– Boxes with clean, rigid top liners
– Cartons for fresh products
– Packaging for refrigerated displays
– Boxes or boards that must resist moisture
– Rigid packaging requiring high visual cleanliness
– Secondary food packaging for retail
– Premium folding cartonboard

…then TKraft is a material you should consider.

Think of it as a bridge between two worlds:
the cleanliness of virgin kraft and the sustainability of recycled fiber, combined in a paper designed for real market needs—cost, quality, availability.

A new paper. A new production run. One simple question.

This Thursday we are producing TKraft again: new reels, new tests, new opportunities.

Would you like to try it?
We can prepare samples, sheets, or a test reel for immediate line trials.
