We use it every day. It’s one of the most widespread products in the world. The toilet paper roll is simple, immediate, universal. An everyday object we take for granted, yet behind this simplicity lies a very precise industrial balance. When we look at a toilet paper roll, a kitchen towel or an industrial roll, we see the paper: softness, number of plies, appearance. But at the core there is an element that matters far more than it seems: the core. That’s where a fundamental part of quality is defined.
In the tissue world – toilet paper, kitchen towels and industrial rolls – everything revolves around continuity. High-speed production, strict standards, increasingly demanding expectations. In this context, for a paper mill, coreboard is not a detail, but a strategic factor.
Those who work in a paper mill know it well: not all cores behave the same. And the differences are not always visible to the eye. However, there are three key elements that truly make the difference in production performance.
Strength is not just about resistance, but behavior.
A core must respond uniformly during winding and throughout the entire process, without sudden failures or irregular deformation. Roll stability starts from this consistency.
Dimensional accuracy drives the entire process.
Diameters, roundness and tolerances directly affect centering, winding and handling. A good core is not “almost right”: it is consistent, every time.
Weight must be interpreted correctly.
It’s not the absolute value that defines quality, but the balance between weight, structure and performance. What really matters is the ability to maintain the same behavior over time, production after production.

Coreboard strips for the tissue sector are becoming our main product in a constantly evolving market that requires increasingly precise standards. In our paper mill, we work every day to transform a variable raw material, such as recovered paper, into a stable and repeatable product — and this is where the real challenge lies.
Over the past two years, we have expanded our grey coreboard strips for the tissue market across both domestic and international markets. Thanks to significant investments, today more than 35% of our production is made in strips, allowing for even tighter control of product performance.
Our coreboards are designed to run on any type of winding machine, but the real value comes from continuous collaboration across the industry — with machinery manufacturers, adhesive suppliers and end users.
In this context, we have grown and developed high-performance coreboard strips designed to meet real market needs. Today we offer highly customizable products, available in both grey and white coreboard, with controlled absorbency levels (Cobb test and drop test) and mechanical strength (measured in Joules) tailored to actual operating conditions, particularly delamination resistance. We support each customer in defining the most suitable configuration, with grammages from 160 to 550 gsm and heights starting from 6.5 cm, including the standard 7.2 cm, ensuring a tailor-made solution ready to perform reliably on any production line.
Through this continuous exchange, we are building shared standards and a concrete idea of what a perfect core can be. Because in the end, the roll that reaches the end user is the result of many choices — including those that cannot be seen.
